The World Bando Thaing Lethwei Federation (WBTLF), headquartered in Saint-Martin-d’Hères near Grenoble, France, is dedicated to promoting traditional and modern Southeast Asian martial arts. Established in 2005, the federation offers comprehensive training programs, certifications, and international events to foster discipline, camaraderie, and respect among practitioners worldwide.​

Core Disciplines:

• Lethwei: Known as Burmese boxing, Lethwei is a traditional combat sport from Myanmar. It is characterized by its use of fists, elbows, knees, feet, and headbutts, making it one of the most formidable martial arts globally. ​

• Bando: A Burmese martial art focusing on self-defense techniques and philosophical teachings.​

• Naban: Traditional Burmese wrestling that emphasizes grappling and ground combat.​

• Banshay: The art of weapon handling, including training with traditional Burmese weapons.

Instructor Training Program:

The WBTLF offers a structured instructor training program led by Master Alain-André Feschet, a 9th-degree black belt renowned for his expertise in traditional martial arts and combat sports. The program is designed for experienced martial artists aiming to become certified Lethwei coaches and to deepen their knowledge in Bando, Naban, and Banshay.​
